Dej, Romania, over an hour away

Klausenburg, now known as Cluj Napoca, was renowned as a thriving Jewish community in the pre-war era. The people, the vibrancy, and every last stray of Jewish life, was wiped out during World War II and the city remained desolate for many years—until Rabbi Dovber Orgad’s arrival in 2018.
Rabbi Orgad serves the religious needs of the community, which in addition to the locals includes numerous university students, 20 Israeli families, and a large number of tourists. The closest mikvah is a men’s mikvah situated in the city of Dej, over an hour away. A gorgeous new mikvah, established through the assistance of Mikvah Tahara, is currently under construction.
There are presently between 10-15 individuals traveling to Dej on a monthly basis, however, it is believed that many more will utilize the mikvah once it becomes available locally. The facilities are anticipated to benefit residents and visitors from the nearby cities of Satmar and Grossvardein as well.
