This project holds a unique and foundational place in our history – it was our very first initiative. Almost 20 years ago, Beis Shemesh faced a critical void: there was no public Mikvah Tahara available, creating an acute need for the community.
Responding to this pressing situation, Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund zt”l directly inspired and rallied Rabbi Waldman shlit”a, our founder, to lead this essential project. As the founder, Rabbi Waldman dedicated significant effort and played a vital role in the construction of this key community resource.
The success of the Beit Shemesh Mikvah was a powerful catalyst. It served as the bedrock upon which our organization, Mikva Tahara, was officially built, and its completion opened the door for all our future projects and global efforts.
Today, this vital Mikvah remains a cornerstone of Beit Shemesh life, profoundly serving the community. Hundreds of thousands have benefited from its use over the years, and its indispensable role is evident with an average of over 4,000 users every single month.
