About this booklet
A year in the life of the Jewish community of Pinsk, told almost entirely in photographs. The album moves month by month from Pesach 2017 through to Purim 2018: Lag BaOmer, the boys and girls school graduations a day apart in June, summer camps for both, and the first day of the new school year.
Around those sit the quieter milestones — a bris, one bar mitzvah after another and two bat mitzvahs, a siyum on Meseches Megillah in the kolel, a kuntres presented by the Pinsk kolel, a chalake, children learning alef-beis, Tu BiShvat and the Shabbos Project. Chanukah appears three times over: in the boys school, in the girls school, and at a concert.
It closes further afield, with a visit to the town of Mir alongside the Rosh Yeshivas of Mir Yerushalayim, and a former Pinsk student installed as rav in Potsdam, Germany.
