Maisons Alfort, France
About this booklet
An appeal from the Maisons-Alfort community, opening with a letter from Dan Mimran. The town sits at the crossroads of several other communities that have no mikvah nearby, so women there either postpone going on a Friday evening or walk more than an hour to reach one. As Jewish families keep settling on the outskirts of Paris, the need has only grown.
Construction began more than five years ago and then stalled. Costs rose steeply through the Covid period, and although the community ran its own local campaign the budget has still not been reached — not nearly. The letter turns outward for the help needed to finish it.
Twelve pages, in English, French and Yiddish.
